Welcome to the Wildlife Conservation Society of Tanzania (WCST)
Since 1987, WCST has stood as a champion for the conservation of Tanzania’s rich natural heritage. We are a voluntary, non-profit, and membership-based organization committed to protecting wildlife, biodiversity, and ecosystems across the country.
On this website you will find information about who we are, our mission and values, our programs and activities, membership opportunities, publications, and ways you can get involved. Together we can secure a future where Tanzania’s flora and fauna continue to thrive for generations to come.
We establish sanctuaries, support biodiversity refuges, and engage communities in protecting natural resources.
We promote conservation through workshops, school programs, publications, and public campaigns.
We provide technical input and lobby for strong environmental and wildlife policies at national and regional levels.
Objectives: Build partnerships for conservation, provide technical advice, influence policies, raise awareness, conduct wildlife research, and support sanctuaries and biodiversity refuges.
Core Values: Integrity, transparency, good governance, solidarity, accountability, innovation, equality, diversity, and sustainable conservation practices.
The variety of life forms (biodiversity) continues to be valued, conserved, propagated and protected as an integral part of the country’s natural heritage for generations to come.
To conserve Tanzania’s flora, fauna, and environment for the benefit of humankind.
